After college, I worked in retail fashion, always being creative. Through the years, I have dabbled in various forms of art , whether it was teaching it, or doing it myself . Despite the French sounding name, paper mache did not originate in France, it actually originated in China 200 AD, where paper itself was invented. Paper mache was used to make warrior helmets, ceremonial masks and mirror cases, in ancient China. From there, interest spread to Japan and what was then Persia, where it was used to make ceremonial masks, ornaments, and other festival adornments. Eventually from there it spread to rest of the world (and to me!).
